Cost-Benefit Analysis: Tape vs. Thinset
Tape! Why didn't I think of it before?! It turns out that taping the tiles to the wall is faster and far less messy than using thinset to cement them to the wall. I suppose it doesn't look quite as nice, but it's soooooo much easier. I'm not sure yet how it will handle water, but it should be OK right?

And - yes - I think tape and water work well together. But on the bigger wall you might want to use thinset:) Just use the thinset that was holding Rudy's tale in place :)
